The posters and bookmarks look amazing. Heather “B”, a very talented DKC member, did the artwork. I love how she tied in the themes of hockey and knitting in the logo and background. The background is so subtle, showing skate marks on the ice, that I have been able to use it as a background for this blog. Cool!
Marc Lira from the Marlies organization, Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment, had 300 posters printed for us. These have been distributed to DKC members and most of the yarn stores in Southern Ontario. Jody May, co-owner of Creative Yarns had thousands of bookmarks printed for us. The bookmarks have been sent to the yarn stores and knitting guilds in Southern Ontario within easy driving distance of Toronto. The bookmarks are also being put in Toronto libraries with knitting groups.
There has been an overwhelmingly positive response to Pucks n’ Purls. If posters and/or bookmarks are required for new or existing locations, let me know at firstname.lastname@example.org
“Hockey captures the essence of Canadian experience in the New World. In a land so inescapably and inhospitably cold, hockey is the chance of life, and an affirmation that despite the deathly chill of winter we are alive.”— Stephen Leacock
